Winter…
Hands down the season where you will love your hair one second, and hate it the next. It can be very confusing, leaving you wondering what the h*ck is going on with those strands on your head. There are a number of things we need to take into consideration when working out the ins and outs of our hair for winter, but if you follow these tips, you should be in tip-top health throughout the cold months ahead!
1. Your hair feels dry and brittle?
Just like your skin, your hair needs moisture to stay healthy. As the air gets drier, it can leave your hair feeling a little bit like a straw. But your hair doesn’t have to be that way forever.
Try these tips:
- Avoid blow-drying your hair while it’s wet—it’s better for your strands if you let them air dry before styling them or curling any ringlets into place!
- Invest in hydrating shampoo and conditioners like our Helichrysum Revitalizing Series which penetrates and creates a barrier for repairing dry, colored, or chemically treated hair, reviving it back to its natural shine and elasticity.
- After shampooing, apply our Helichrysum Pure Nourishing Hair Mask with an appropriate amount onto the palm. Leave in for 5-10 minutes. Rinse thoroughly. And voila! Your hair is softer, from roots to tips.
2. Is your hair full of static?
Winter weather can cause your hair to pick up a static charge, making it stand up—something that’s caused by the dryness of the air.
- First things first: Moisture is key. Incorporate as much moisture into your hair care routine as possible. We recommend using our Wakening Hydration Cream, to deeply moisturize and repair dry and damaged hair from within.
- Next, avoid using hot tools, especially if they’re dryers—they’ll just dry out your strands more and make them more prone to static buildup.
- If you find your hair standing on end, try patting it down with hand cream. This will calm it down and make it easy to manage.
3. Do you have a dry and itchy scalp?
Winter is a rough time for your scalp. It’s dry and itchy, which can be extremely irritating and embarrassing.
If you’re looking to get relief, consider changing up your shampoo routine. The best way to fight dryness is by using a shampoo and conditioner that contains green tea oil or rosemary leaf oil—these ingredients help restore moisture by nourishing your scalp. Regulate and control sebum secretion with our Green Tea Anti Dandruff Series, giving your hair a new fresh experience!
